The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup has started off with a few poor performances since the United States Women's National Team has not been as dominant as it would have wanted. And there's a cause for it, claims USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovski.
Vlatko Andonovski discussed the team's difficulties after the lackluster 0-0 draw against Portugal on Tuesday, saying that a lack of familiarity is partly to blame for the poor play.
According to Mirror, Andonovski stated, "Obviously, we wanted to win the game and advance with a victory,
but we knew today we were going to face a tough opponent and the most important thing is getting the job done and the only focus for now is the next game."
"This squad is quite new. The players are merely missing each other on passes, through balls, and crosses since they haven't played together in a while. More of those opportunities will be taken as our time together increases.
As the players get to know one another more, it will be interesting to see if the USWNT can get better.
