Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested in New York on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment.
The incident involved a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman in the Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea.
Police responded to a 911 call around 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital.
Majors was placed into custody without incident.
He starred in "Creed III" and "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania."
A representative for Majors denied any wrongdoing by the actor.
Majors broke through in 2019's "The Last Black Man in San Francisco."
He has also starred in "Da 5 Bloods" and "The Harder They Fall."
He stars in the recent Sundance Film Festival entry "Magazine Dreams."
Searchlight Pictures is set to release "Magazine Dreams" in December.
